Amex temporarily increases Gold card sign up bonus to 25,000 points – Business Traveller

American Express has launched a limited-time offer of 25,000 Rewards points (rather than 20,000) when new Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Cardholders spend £3,000 in the first three months.

The sign-up bonus is applicable to applications made and approved by August 8, 2023.

Those that sign up next month, by July 18, 2023, will also be automatically be entered into a prize draw to win up to £200 Amazon e-vouchers.

Additionally, existing Amex Gold Cardmembers can earn an extra 14,000 points when referring a friend by August 8, with the friend earning 30,000 points if they sign up and spend £3,000 in the first three months.

Any new cardmembers that are referred and approved by July 18 and spend the allotted amount will also be automatically entered into the Amazon prize draw.

The Membership Rewards points are earnt by cardmembers every time they spend, and can be redeemed for vouchers across shopping, travel and lifestyle partners. The Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card was revamped last year with a range of new benefits.

Benefits include four airport lounges visits per year with Priority Pass, access to a variety of events and experiences, and £5 back on eligible purchases with Deliveroo twice a month.

The Gold Card has zero annual fee for the first year and £160 fee thereafter.

Note that the sign-up offer is only available to those aged 18 and above in the UK, and those that have not had a personal American Express card within the previous 24 months.
