ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recognized four local businesses on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Angelica “Luna” Rivera is a consultant with Mary Kay. She has been with the business for about a year and a half but is new to the Alexandria community. Her specialties include skin care solutions, age fighting skin care, facials, and more. Mary Kay started in 1963 and is one of the largest direct sellers of skin care and color cosmetics in the world. Learn more at MaryKay.com/ARiveraMorales.
The Spice and Tea Exchange recently opened its doors in Alexandria at 604 Broadway St. It offers a variety of fine spices, handcrafted seasonings, loose-leaf teas, salts, sugar, gifts, and more. It also has a tea bar on site for drinks on the go. Learn more at SpiceAndTea.com/AlexandriaMN. Dionne Peterson is the owner.
Protein Alliance, Powered by Trade Café USA has been around for about 24 years but is new to Alexandria. Its services also include turkey genetics, farm production, processing plant management, and domestic and international sales. Learn more at ProteinAlliance.com.
The Arts Collaborative is a nonprofit that formed as a “home” for the arts in the Alexandria Lakes Area. It recently launched a website to serve as a visual marketplace for all things “arts” in the Alexandria community. Currently there are eight organizations part of this collaboration — Alexandria Art Guild, Alexandria Festival of the Lakes, Alexandria Public Schools, Andria Theatre, Central Lakes Concert Association, Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra, Red Willow Arts Coalition, and Theatre L’Homme Dieu. Learn more at TheArtsCollaborativeMN.com.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
