The Awami League does not care about visa policies and restrictions of other countries, said AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday (23 September).
“The Awami League government wants to conduct a peaceful, free, and impartial election. Those who want free, peaceful, and impartial elections, do not care about the visa policy. Those who don’t want elections, want to question elections,” he said while talking to reporters at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after returning home from Singapore following a health check-up and treatment.
“The fate of politics in Bangladesh has been determined by two selfies within a week. BNP leaders’ have been losing their sleep after seeing the selfies,” he said.
Quader, also the road, transport, and bridges minister, said, there is no alternative to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in order to protect democracy.
“Awami League wants everyone including the BNP to participate in the election. However, the people will resist anyone who stands against holding the election,” he added.
He further said elections will be held according to the democratic rules of Bangladesh and the people of the country will vote.
“It is up to others whether they would send observers here. We will help them if they come. Whether a democratic country will send observers or not is up to them,” Quader said.
