Air India on Friday announced the successful operation of its inaugural ferry flight featuring the newly adorned livery on its A350-900 aircraft. The flight, from Singapore to Toulouse, marks a significant milestone for the airline, symbolizing a new chapter and underscoring its dedication to providing a contemporary and visually captivating travel experience.

In a statement, the airline conveyed that the livery transformation took place in Singapore, and the aircraft is currently en route back to Toulouse for additional processes before its scheduled delivery in December 2023.

The order comprises 6 A350-900s and 34 A350-1000s, with the initial A350-900 expected to join the fleet in December 2023 and the remaining five by March 2024.
While the management is yet to finalize specific routes for the Airbus A350, an official mentioned that the aircraft would initially be deployed on domestic routes to facilitate crew familiarization. Air India, having solidified purchase agreements for a total of 250 Airbus aircraft and 220 new Boeing flights during the Paris Air Show in June, values the combined deal at USD 70 billion at list prices.
This strategic move aligns with Air India’s efforts for a turnaround under its new ownership, Tata, positioning the airline for a renewed and promising future.
