Air Canada has resumed its non-stop service between Edinburgh and Toronto, the carrier announced on Thursday (8 June).

The newly extended service, first announced in March, will operate daily during the summer peak and will continue three times weekly into the winter season until 8 January 2024 before returning “in early spring” 2024.

Daily flights will depart Edinburgh at 9:00 and arrive in Toronto at 11:10 local time. Return flights take off at 19:05 from Toronto and land in the Scottish capital at 06:35 the following day.

Flights on the route will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which include the carrier’s ‘signature class’ with lie-flat beds, premium economy and economy class cabins.

“We are delighted once again to be flying from the Scottish capital with our newly extended non-stop service between Edinburgh and Toronto,” said Stephen Gerrard, Air Canada general manager sales, UK and Ireland.

“Our customers in Scotland will benefit from this direct link to our Toronto hub and beyond to destinations across the Americas in both the summer and winter seasons. We look forward to welcoming our customers on board.”

In addition to the Edinburgh-Toronto service, the Canadian carrier’s UK and Ireland network includes year-round services from London Heathrow to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax and between Dublin and Toronto, as well as non-stop seasonal services from Dublin to Vancouver and Montreal, and from Manchester to Toronto.

It also flies to more than 50 further destinations across Europe and from 29 October 2023, will offer a fifth ‘freedom service’ from London Heathrow to Mumbai as part of its flight schedule between Toronto and Mumbai via London Heathrow.
