Advito, the consultancy division of BCD Travel, and technology company Tripkicks have expanded their ability to display carbon emissions data in the Concur booking tool to cover hotel and rail search results.
The companies announced in March this year the ability to display Advito’s GATE4 emissions figures for air search results in the tool, while “ground transport will come next”, said Olivier Benoit, principal and senior vice president, when announcing the development at the GBTA Convention in Dallas today (13 August).
Advito’s hotel emissions methodology “goes beyond the industry standard calculations” and includes elements such as country-level electricity mix, market tier, hotel amenities, occupancy rate and energy usage. Its rail methodology, meanwhile, factors in average passenger loads, power source and operators’ sustainability initiatives.
Once enabled, Concur users will see will GATE4 emissions figures displayed for all air, hotel and rail search results, as well as green leaf icons against the most sustainable options. Benoit said that the order of search results is not impacted by the integration and will not override corporates’ built-in policies.
“Our expanded partnership with Tripkicks provides travellers with a comprehensive view of their emissions impact across their trip. This holistic approach is vital to help travellers make informed decisions, and it is driving us toward our goal of a more sustainable corporate travel industry,” said Benoit.
Tripkicks, which is both a BCD Marketplace partner and an SAP Concur App
Center partner, is an add-on technology that provides messaging to
business travellers at the point of sale and other points in the travel
experience.
