Members of the Business School Netherlands in Nigeria Alumni Association has inaugurated a new executive, led by Mrs Hansatu Adegbite, as first female president of the body.

At a presidential dinner and swearing in Lagos, with the theme, ‘Action speaks louder than voice’, the alumni expressed confidence in Adegbite’s capacity, who has demonstrated requisite competence even at her role as Executive Director of Women in Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ).

The new president, who brings to her new office a wealth of experience in the commercial industry, observed: “The meeting happened to be the first physical event, organised by the Business School Netherlands in Nigeria Alumni Association post-COVID-19. And for most of my colleagues, when I look at the level we have all attained, I find it very impressive, because it has shown that we have grown not just in knowledge, but also in capacity and professional development.”

She said it was important to “use the platform to work together to break barriers and set new strides in the industry, by utilising the knowledge gained to create high-level solutions.

“Something very important to me, is having a very strong and open platform for collaboration that also fosters growth.”

Adegbite continued: “We were taught as action-learning professionals to solve existing problems, using the knowledge we have to create valuable interventions.

“Becoming the first female president of the Business School Netherlands in Nigeria Alumni Association stands out as a remarkable achievement for me and a huge landmark for Nigerian women.”

Dean and Country Director for the Business School Netherlands in Nigeria, Prof. Lere Baale said the alumni are privileged to have her (Adegbite) as the association’s next president.

“We don’t discriminate against gender, and it is evident here. I have known the incoming president for many years. She was among the early students, who registered years ago. I have seen her implement a number of projects with the various connections that she has worked with. We feel very privileged that she is creating time to provide leadership to the alumni,” he added.
