Baron has been with A&K for the past 12 years and was named president in December 2016. He previously served as senior vice president of strategic operations for the luxury tour operator.

Baron’s departure comes following a decision to move to the East Coast, A&K said. A&K’s headquarters are in Chicago suburb Downer’s Grove, Ill.

A&K Travel Group CEO Cristina Levis announced Baron’s departure in a letter to staff.

“It is with great sadness that I inform you that after nearly 12 years with A&K, Keith Baron has made the difficult decision to relocate his family back to the East Coast,” Levis said in the letter to staff. “Rarely in my career have I met a leader of his caliber, successfully driving the business while being respected and loved by all of his colleagues.”

Baron’s last day will be on Aug. 4. The company said a succession plan will be announced in the coming days.
