The upcoming horror film A Quiet Place: Day One has been delayed to June 2024.
Per Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures has pushed the A Quiet Place prequel from March 8, 2024 to June 28, 2024. However, this three-month delay is quite minor compared to the one experienced by Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two. Paramount has delayed the next Mission: Impossible film by nearly one full year — moving it from June 28, 2024 to May 23, 2025.
A Quiet Place: Day One serves as a prequel/spin-off to A Quiet Place, the post-apocalyptic horror film series co-created by John Krasinski. Michael Sarnoski is writing and directing Day One based on a story treatment by Krasinski, the latter of whom is also attached as a producer. The upcoming film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O’Hare.
The history – and future – of A Quiet Place
Directed and co-written by Krasinski, A Quiet Place opened in theaters in April 2018. The film — which also co-stars Krasinski — centers on a family struggling to survive following the invasion of a sightless alien race that hunts by sound. Krasinski returned to write and direct a sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, which opened in March 2020.
In addition to the upcoming prequel/spin-off, Krasinski is developing a third main-series film in the A Quiet Place saga. A video game based on (and sharing continuity with) the film series is also in the works.
A Quiet Place: Day One opens in theaters on June 28, 2024.
