A 7,000-hectare wildlife, trout and water catchment reserve in Lydenburg (Mashishing), Mpumalanga is on the market for R65,000,000.
According to Pam Golding, the remote private game reserve has 13 farm portions and is tucked away in a safe, natural cul-de-sac with mountain views and 21,9km of permanent streams and waterfalls.
It also features 107km of tracks and roads, 7,4km water pipeline and a 5km private electric line for an exclusive 12-sleeper guest lodge, a manager’s farmhouse and staff accommodation.
The farm is part of a greater protected nature reserve, which generates revenue from nature-related tourism activities and game farming.
“The reserve is known for breathtaking mountain scenery, protected rare and endangered mountain wildlife, and unique vegetation. Currently, guests enjoy game drives; nature walks, mountain biking on 80,6km of tracks, fly-fishing in 4km of stocked rivers, two large earth dams, and 14 tiered dams with weirs, well equipped for picnics and sundowners,” Pam Golding said.
“Historians and explorers would appreciate the sites and relics from the Stone Age and Ancient African period, the Anglo-Boer War and the Gold Rush years of the 1800s. This reserve is a haven for conservationists and nature lovers valuing privacy in pristine surroundings.”
