Air France is introducing a new business class for South Africans travelling from Johannesburg to Paris.
The airline said that the new cabin will feature attentive service, gourmet cuisine designed by French Michelin chefs, a carefully selected wine and champagne list, and a large selection of in-flight entertainment.
The Business cabin will feature 48 spacious seats that can go fully flat, are 2 metres long, give full access to the aisle and ensure optimal privacy – with seats in the centre of the cabin equipped with a central panel to ensure privacy for passengers travelling together.
The seats at the front of the cabin will also have extra space for additional comfort, said Air France.
Passengers will receive a soft microfiber pillow, a soft blanket, and a do not disturb feature – informing the crew that a customer wishes to rest.
Each seat will also feature a 17.3-inch 4K high-definition anti-glare screen allowing Bluetooth connection – meaning customers can use their own headphones – A and C USB ports, an induction charger, a laptop socket and access to the airline’s in-flight Wi-Fi.
An updated graphic interface available in 12 languages will also make it easier to choose from a wide variety of entertainment, including 350 films, TV series, documentaries, music and podcasts.
Air France said that the menu designed by Michelin-starred chefs will also offer vegetarian dishes as well as refined dishes with red or white meat or fish.
As part of its fight against food waste, the airline will also allow customers to pre-select their hot meal in Business before departure, which guarantees the availability of the customer’s choice.
According to Google Flights, a return trip from Johannesburg to Paris via Air France’s Business class will cost close to R120,000. (Departure date – 19 April, Return date – 28 April)
