A business owner said she caught a customer out after they told her an “embarrassing lie”, and claimed something was “missing” from their online order.
Reakt Apparel founder Kayla Thomas turned to TikTok to share a “juicy story” about a customer who she alleges was telling fibs.
The ordeal began with an order of three sports crop tops from the Reakt Apparel Instagram page, which was believed to be from a local.

In the video, Kayla said: “I thought it’s local, she goes to my old gym and she has mutuals [followers] with me, it will be fine.
“So I decided I’m gonna drop it off to her so she gets it the same day.”
She said she put the order together herself, and delivered it to the customer at around 10.30am.
But then – by 9pm – the customer contacted Reakt Apparel to inform them she “had one crop missing”.
“And I’m thinking, how was that possible? Like, did I make a mistake? I was literally second guessing myself,” she added.
She told the customer she was trying to figure out what happened though she was quite confused.
Kayla continued: “At this point I’m still really confused and second-guessing myself, but from a business perspective I’m like who would lie about this? And maybe I did make a mistake.
“So I thought you know what for the sake of a crop [top], I’ll send her another one.”
She went onto explain the customer then made quite a strange request.
Screenshots of their emails show Kayla offered to replace the top, but then the customer asks if the company can “arrange [a] white twist crop instead [of] black” just as she had previously ordered.
In the video, Kayla explained: “This is where I thought, no, this is really weird. It’s odd.”
The small business owner then decided to ask a friend her thoughts on the situation, and her pal told her she went to the same gym as the customer.
Apparently, she regularly posts gym selfies on Instagram that get re-posted by the gym’s account.
This encouraged Kayla to go digging, and she “couldn’t believe” what she discovered.
“There she was … the same day wearing the black crop that was apparently missing,” she continued.
“And the weird part is she literally tagged me in the post but I didn’t see it because her account is private and we don’t follow each other. So I sent her a follow request and she accepted straight away.”
Kayla later posted a follow-up video on TikTok where she confronted the customer about the situation.
She sent an email, but claims she got “no response” to it, but she could still see the customer wearing the alleged “missing top” in pictures.
“I thought surely she deletes the story. No. So I ‘liked’ her story and left it for about half an hour … [but the] story’s still up,” she said.
In the end she sent the customer a message and highlighted how hard it is to run a small business.
It was noted the customer eventually reached out and said sorry, claiming she contacted Reakt to inform them she later found the missing top.
Since the story was shared thousands of people have commented – and the clips have gone viral on social media.
