An evening in honour of George Savvides AM, will be held next Friday at The Avenue in Parkville, organised by Ethos (Centre of Christianity and Society) to celebrate his outstanding integrity and engagement in his professional life, over a lifetime.
Specifically, the Cypriot Australian Chair of SBS will be awarded with the Faith and Work Award 2023, which is given every year by Ethos to an Australian who has shown an exceptional contribution to society, by integrating their faith with their work.
“Mr Savvides exemplifies the contributions that Greek/Cypriot Australians have made to this country, in many ways,” Mr Gordon Preece, Director of Ethos, told Neos Kosmos.
He added that every year, Ethos chooses to honour one Australian who has made an impact in society, who knows how to operate within a pluralistic society, in their profession with respect to everyone, their beliefs and values.

Before being appointed Chair of SBS, Savvides was Chair of World Vision and had been for many years CEO of Medibank and other health-related businesses.
