Yellowstone 2 Sequel Confirmed as Season 5 Ends Kevin Costner TV Show

A Yellowstone 2 sequel series is officially in development as Paramount announced that Kevin Costner is leaving the series, and the show will be ending.

When will Yellowstone end?

Yellowstone Season 5 will wrap up the hit western drama. Costner will continue to star in the series’ final season, which will see new episodes released in November 2023. However, after the final batch of episodes, the show will be over, as there will be no Yellowstone Season 6.

While it is disappointing to see the hit show end, the good news is that a Yellowstone 2 sequel series is confirmed. Recent reports show that the sequel show will star Matthew McConaughey. Additionally, several characters from the current series are supposed to appear in it.

“Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits – from 1883 to Tulsa King, and I am confident our Yellowstone sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” said Chris McCarthy, president & CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios of Yellowstone 2 (per Variety).

What was Yellowstone about?

“The series chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States,” reads the synopsis. “Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect — the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.”

Yellowstone is created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. It stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly.
