Moritt Hock & Hamroff, the law firm headquartered in Garden City, has opened a new office in Fort Lauderdale, giving the firm a presence in southeast Florida.
The office will be supported by four attorneys from the Florida-based law firm of Ritter & Chusid, including one of its founders, Gregory Ritter who will be a partner. Joining with Ritter are Gary Rosner as partner, Evan Rosenberg as counsel, and Olivia Retenauer as an associate.
The firm opened its first Florida office in Naples in 2019.
The expansion was driven by the increased needs of the firm’s clients and the business they are conducting in the Miami to West Palm corridor, according to a news release. The office will focus on the firm’s core practice areas of litigation, real estate, commercial lending, dispute resolution, and trusts and estates.
The Fort Lauderdale office marks the firm’s first fully staffed office outside of New York. This expansion continues the firm’s growth since 2017 including its emerging New York City presence, and the growth of its trusts and estates and corporate practices following the acquisition of attorney groups in both practice areas. Ritter and his team have worked with the attorneys of Moritt Hock & Hamroff for decades on matters involving both New York and Florida litigations and transactions, which the firm says was an important component in the decision to expand into southeast Florida.
“Our presence in Florida is an important part of our continuing growth. My partners and I are delighted to welcome Greg and his exceptional team of attorneys to our firm,” Marc Hamroff, managing partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff, said in a statement. “Their solid reputation, extensive experience and commitment to success and client satisfaction has produced the kind of results for their clients that perfectly reflect and align with our “Strength In Partnership” approach to the practice of law.”
“Joining Moritt Hock & Hamroff is truly an exciting move for our group and represents a vital next step in our professional growth,” Ritter said in a statement. “We are excited to start this new chapter and look forward to continuing to service the needs of our clients with the significant support a full-service business law firm like Moritt Hock & Hamroff can provide.”
