When Dane Hargreaves decided to cook his own ‘takeaway’ meal after a night out, he did not imagine it would lead to him starting his own food business.
Now he is moving into new premises after his food proved a huge hit.
Dane, from Little Lever, said: “It all started when I was out with my partner Holly Mclaughlin, and we wanted a takeaway on the way home but there wasn’t anything around at the time, so I said I’d make us something and she said people would buy it.”
And from there he started cooking up meals from his kitchen.
And now he has take his home business to the next level after being offered a new position and space where he will serve his own food.
Dane only started his business Flexx_hq three weeks ago and after getting some positive feedback for his street food, he was set the challenge of selling 10 meals.
And when he sold his first 14, he says it snowballed from there to the point where he has sold more than 200 orders in the past three weeks.
Dane will officially start serving his own food with a twist at Unsy’s Rotisserie Chicken Ltd on Stopes Road in Little Lever, on Friday while also taking on a management role.
Dane said: “I started making street food for big appetites and it just really took off.
“It’s an opportunity I never thought I would have.
“There has been a lot of pressure but feel really positive and there is a lot of potential.
Dane’s low-priced, high quality food will be available at the moment from Friday to Sunday, which he will operate with Holly.
People can expect chicken wings, fries, hot dogs, freshly roasted chicken, and slow cooked ribs, in a choice of different flavours.
Dane added: “We will serve anything you can pick up with your fingers and eat.
“It’s really food on the move, and convenience food that is ready in 10 minutes that will fill your belly.
“I honestly think this could be the start of a big thing.
“I want to grow and expand and become recognised in the North West.”
At the moment, Dane says that people should pre-order for now, which can be done via their Instagram page where they are most active, or their Facebook page.
Due to only one delivery driver being available at the moment, deliveries will be offered on a first come first served basis.
This will change as the business develops and grows.
