Italy to host bilateral conference on Ukraine reconstruction – English

(ANSA) – ROME, APR 25 – Premier Giorgia Meloni and her
Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal will be among the officials
taking part in a bilateral conference in Rome on Wednesday on
Ukraine’s reconstruction after the Russian invasion.
   
Around 700 officials and representatives of business
associations and the main international financial institutions
are participating.
   
The aim is to learn directly from the Ukrainian authorities what
their reconstruction needs are in order to enable the Italy’s
government, its agencies and businesses to formulate concrete
proposals for both ‘fast recovery’ initiatives and medium- and
long-term projects.
   
There will be specific sessions focusing on the areas considered
to be the highest priorities for reconstruction, such as
transport and infrastructure, energy, food and agriculture,
health, aviation and the environment.
   
Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Deputy
Premier and Transport and Infrastructure Minister Matteo
Salvini, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, Business and Made
in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso, and Carlo Bonomi, the president
of Italian industry confederation, Confindustria, are also
