TripActions has acquired Scandinavian corporate travel management company Resia AB, further boosting its fast-growing footprint in Europe.
Financial details were undisclosed.
The acquisition of the Gothenburg, Sweden-based Resia “significantly increased our marketshare in Scandinavia” and gives TripActions “Resia’s strong management team and deep market expertise” to help spur customer growth in the Nordic region, according to Michael Riegel, TripActions’ recently appointed EMEA general manager. Riegel joined TripActions upon its recent acquisition of Berlin-based TMC Comtravo, of which Riegel was CEO and which also has a business travel client base in Scandinavia.
Resia has a heavy focus on meetings and events, including conferences and worldwide congresses, and such business makes up more than a quarter of its sales volume, according to TripActions.
The deal is TripActions’ third major TMC acquisition in Europe in the past nine months, following the acquisitions of Comtravo in February and U.K.-based Reed and Mackay last May. It brings its client base to more than 8,800 businesses around the world, according to TripActions. In addition, TripActions expanded its Liquid integrated payment and expense management solution to Europe late last year.
