This week marked the second anniversary of the killing of Bradley Shane Chrisjohn, 45. Police were called to his home on Duff Line in the Township of Dutton-Dunwich – southwest of London – at about 4 a.m. on April 4, 2021. He was found dead inside.

A second person who has not been publicly identified was injured but survived, police have said.

Chrisjohn, who ran two gas bars on Oneida Nation of the Thames, was remembered by loved ones as a “beloved husband” and “proud papa of 12 grandchildren.”

This week, a social media post paid tribute to Chrisjohn on the anniversary of his death.

“You didn’t always show it but, you were and always will be remembered as the man with the biggest heart,” it read. “Your smile was contagious. Laugh was ridiculous, sense of humour was a bit out of this world.”

His slaying remains under investigation by Elgin County OPP, who are working with Ontario’s chief coroner. In the initial stages of the probe two years ago, police called it a “sudden death” and noted they believed it to be an isolated incident.

“Nothing that we’ve seen to this point in terms of the evidence we’ve gathered . . . would indicate there’s a threat to the greater public,” local OPP spokesperson Derek Rogers said in the days after the killing.
