To create opportunities for young real estate operators to grow and chart good career in the sector, a consultant, Ambassador Uba Taiwo Joyce, has launched a Global Realtors Academy (GRA) where young operators will be given the rudiments of the real estate profession.
Joyce said, although, she majored in International Relationships in the university, she took to real estate profession after suffering in the area of accommodation in her teenage years.
According to her, life has a lot of surprises for people and until one understands what his/her destiny is, he/she will continue to wobble with little or no success. Fielding questions from the press on what she has in mind for opening the Academy, she said, “I want to create opportunities for those who want to make career in the real estate sector to soar and actualise. “I want to advise those choosing to grow in the sector to see whatever they meet in the job as lessons that can help them mould and build themselves to enviable heights. You may have periods of discouragement but you should know they are part of your assignment to grow,” she said.
On the number of students that enrolled as she launched the Academy, she said, “we have over 20 students today taking the two courses that would last for two weeks online training plus my colleagues in the industry. She said, “I have been helping people giving them consulting services but I found out I was not giving myself the profits that ought to accrue therefrom. With this Academy, both the participants and myself will benefit. I advise the participants to take serious whatever they learned from this Academy as they will continue to meet challenges as they move on. Challenge is the job because if you are able to surmount challenges, you will make it in life,”she stated.
According to Dr. Mike Oladipo, a management consultant and business strategist, who took the participants on the courses, the event of the day was very encouraging. According to him, Joyce is an epitome of business professional, one who does not relax until she gets her targets, a strategist with penchant to build a sustainable organisation and one who through her expertise would help to reposition Africa for global relevance.
Also speaking, Peacemaker Afolabi, Director, Brass & Castles, Real Estate, Development and Project Management, described the launch as a remarkable project that will reposition Nigerian real estate sector for international competitiveness.
He said that the Academy will open new visa for those interested in making career out of real estate.
In his statement, Pastor Eyewumi Ghereje, Pastor, Davids Christian Centre, Island said that Joyce has remained a dedicated, hardworking and a spiritual person who sees God as her source. She is one who keeps learning every day, one who seeks knowledge all the time. Some of the participants who commented said the event really worth it. Belee Mark, one of the participants said that she enjoyed the lectures and would like a repeat for her to come back to it. In the same way, Lilian Chima Anosike said that the event was mind blowing. According to her, it makes meaning because we learn every day.
