Inntel has announced it is supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week to change attitudes on how neurodivergent individuals are perceived across the UK travel industry.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative challenging stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences.
The agency is therefore encouraging travel suppliers, clients and travel industry professionals to recognise the many talents and advantages of people who are neurodivergent and highlighting the need for more inclusive and equitable organisational cultures within the travel sector.
NiB: awareness and engagement
Inntel is a corporate member of Neurodiversity in Business (NiB), a registered charity and business-led forum promoting best practice on neurodiversity recruitment, retention and empowerment. In addition to this, Tiffany Casson, one of its customer relationship managers, has been in place as NiB ambassador for the UK travel industry since October 2022.
In this role, Casson is focused on being an ally and using influence and her travel industry network to build greater awareness and engagement. Her approach has led to initiatives with industry trade bodies and membership organisations, such as Institute of Travel Management (ITM), Business Travel Association (BTA) and beam.
In addition to this, she has developed working relationships with organisations focussed on wellbeing of business travellers and those that work within travel industry, like Eventwell and Simpila Mental Health.
During Neurodiversity Week 2023, as NiB Ambassador, Casson will be involved in a range of initiatives including: neurodiversity awareness training for Inntel employees, BTA webinar: neurodiversity in the workplace and neurodiversity annual conference 2023.
Dan Harris, CEO, Neurodiversity in Business, commented: “We are pleased that Tiffany, with a genuine passion and desire to make a real difference for neurodiverse people, stepped up to represent the UK’s travel industry. It’s a massive trade sector which we recognised needed stronger representation.
“Tiffany’s role as NiB ambassador is enabling her to build awareness across industry suppliers, partners and clients. As a service brand that thrives on being agile and innovative, the clear link between neurodiverse people as exceptional problem-solvers and creative thinkers, means we need to re-think how to create inclusive spaces for current and future employees who are neurodiverse and Tiffany is leading us in the right direction.”
