Dallas business founder and CEO Chanel Christoff Davis has been recognized as a Women’s Business Enterprise Star by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the nation’s largest certifier of women-owned businesses and a leader in women’s business development.

The organization said that Davis will be recognized for her resilience, business acumen, inspiration to and mentorship with other women, and her active leadership role as a founding partner and CEO of sales tax consulting firm Davis Davis & Harmon LLC, which celebrated 21 years in business last year.

The WBE Star Award is the nation’s top recognition for excellence among women-owned businesses, honoring 14 women from across the country within each of 14 Regional Partner Organizations who are leaders in their local business communities and respective fields, the council said.

The 2023 WBE Stars will be honored during the 2023 WBENC National conference, a gathering of more than 3,000 entrepreneurs and business leaders March 20-23, in Nashville, Tenn.

“We could not be prouder of the 2023 WBE Stars,” Pamela Prince-Eason, president and CEO of WBENC, said in a statement. “Each one of them exemplifies the vital role women-owned businesses play in our economy. They are outstanding leaders, mentors, and innovators, and we look forward to honoring them in March.”

Honored for ‘excellence through reinvention and innovation’

Among her many leadership roles and responsibilities, Davis serves on the Women’s Business Council Southwest board and the WBENC’s National Forum, which is a select group of WBENC-certified WBEs nominated by their Regional Partner Organization (RPO) and appointed by WBENC.

Forum members serve on business-focused teams where they share their expertise and knowledge with the WBENC membership. In addition, Forum members are recognized as the voice of the WBEs within the WBENC network.

“This year, WBENC sought to recognize and celebrate WBEs who have demonstrated remarkable resilience and capacity to reinvent themselves. These WBE Stars are being honored for perseverance and excellence through reinvention and innovation, despite the unprecedented challenges of recent years,” Prince-Eason said.

Christoff Davis, who is an alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program and has hosted a podcast featuring dynamic women, said the award is gratifying.

“First and foremost, to be selected by my peers, women I have grown to know personally and admire, makes this award extra special. Secondly, the prestige of this award means that our business is regarded as one of the best in the WBE network, and for that, I am grateful. Thank you to everyone who nominated me for this distinction.” she said.

Known for her expertise and advocacy

She was selected for this national honor by the Women’s Business Council Southwest, one of 14 RPOs that lead the world-class certification of WBEs, as well as providing skills-building educational programs and business development opportunities within their respective regions.

“We are thrilled to have Chanel as our WBE Star of the year! She exemplifies the very definition of a leader. Her peers view her as a subject matter expert in her field one that will always go the extra mile to help others. In the boardroom, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to discussions and decision-making that impact the council. She is a fantastic advocate and voice for all our WBEs in the WBCS network.” Bliss Coulter, president and CEO-Women’s Business Council-Southwest, said in a statement.

Davis Davis & Harmon LLC – Sales Tax Experts is an award-winning tier-one woman and minority-owned sales tax consulting firm with a focus on transaction tax advocacy throughout the United States and Canada.
