The announcement of Ranveer Singh’s wax figure happened in 2019. This was when the actor received the Madame Tussauds of the Future Award at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards ceremony.
In an official statement shared, he expressed his happiness. He called it an ‘incredible moment’ to be with his mother to unveil his own figures at Madame Tussauds London. The actor stated, “It feels like life has come full circle today. I remember reading in wonderment about this mythical, magical place as a kid. Going through my Mum’s early pictures with popular celebrities’ figurines here and wondering what this place is all about.”
He further added, “Today, being immortalized as a figure in the company of such esteemed individuals is a remarkably proud feeling for me and my family. There is a lot for me to be thankful about this year and I am so grateful for everything.”
Ranveer Singh himself actively participated in the creative process and selected the distinct looks and styling for his figures. The suited Singapore figure showcases a custom tuxedo with a velvet blazer adorned with floral embellishments.
The neon sherwani-wearing wax figure includes hundreds of individually sewn embellishments and a leopard head shoulder detail. Moreover, all of it is tied together with a triple-layered diamond and pearl necklace and eight large gemstone set rings. It pays homage to Ranveer Singh’s culture and heritage.
