An extremely rare alligator has been born at a wildlife park in Orlando, Florida.
The female reptile, measuring 49cm (19.2 inches), is one of only seven leucistic alligators in the world, according to officials at the park.
Leucistic alligators are the rarest genetic variation in the American alligator. They differ from albino alligators, which have pink eyes and a complete loss of pigment.
“This is beyond rare. It is absolutely extraordinary,” Mark McHugh, president and CEO of Gatorland, said in a statement.
