Pennsylvania Governor Rebukes Penn President Over Testimony on Antisemitism

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro called University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill’s congressional testimony about campus antisemitism a “failure of leadership.”

Lawmakers grilled Magill and the presidents of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Tuesday on what they were doing to protect Jewish students as protests against the Israel-Hamas war, sometimes featuring antisemitic rhetoric, roiled their campuses. The presidents were asked if calling for the genocide of Jewish students would violate the policies of the schools. All three said it depended on the context.
