There may be a delay for those awaiting the next Canada Express Entry draw round. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have communicated that they have extended the deadline to submit a permanent residence application for an additional 60 days.
This is what the IRCC tweeted from the X (formerly Twitter) handle:
Some applicants have been unable to submit their Express Entry applications due to technical problems with the online form. This is affecting applicants with dependent children who are over the age of 18 and reside in Canada. We’ve contacted all affected applicants directly and are working urgently to fix the issue. For those affected, we’ve extended the deadline to submit a permanent residence application for an additional 60 days.
Incidentally, the most recent All program draw occurred on October 10, 2023, and the most recent Express Entry draw occurred on October 26, 2023.
The Canada Express Entry application process is for skilled immigrants who want to settle in Canada permanently.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) use the Express Entry system to oversee the processing of applications for economic immigration under the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC). Within 60 calendar days of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA), candidates for Express Entry must submit a completed electronic application for permanent residence (e-APR).
As of October 1, 2023, applicants for Express Entry are no longer required to undergo upfront medical examinations.
On October 26, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,600 invitations to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry system. The required Rank to be invited to apply is 3,600 or higher, and the CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited has been set at 431.
On September 19, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,200 invitations to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry system. The required Rank to be invited to apply is 3,200 or higher, and the CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited has been set at 531.
Express Entry is Canada’s top application management system for individuals wishing to immigrate permanently via the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program. Canada’s Express Entry system offers individuals with knowledge of critical disciplines a simplified and efficient immigration process.
