(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 1 – Italy’s manufacturing Purchasing
Managers’ Index (PMI) fell to a 5-month low of 44.4 in November,
from 44.9 in October.
Sources said the fall marks a “sharp deterioration in the health
of the Italian manufacturing sector”.
The figure is below estimates with analysts having predicted an
increase to 45.3.
The November data showed a “sharp fall in production, the
fastest in three months, which was attributed by companies
participating in the survey to the continued weakness in demand
in the sector, which also caused a decline in new orders”, the
sources said.. (ANSA).
