CM Bhupendra Patel concludes Japan visit, next stop Singapore

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday completed his five-day Japan visit to promote the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. During the tour, he visited the famous Buddhist temple of Kofukuji of Kobe in Hyogo prefecture. After Japan, the Chief Minister is scheduled to promote the Summit, due in January, in Singapore on Friday and Saturday.

After visiting the Nofukuji temple, the delegation led by the Chief Minister also visited the Kobe Port in the foothills of the Rocco mountain range.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and his delegation held a meeting with top officials of Nichicon Corporation. The representatives of Nichicon Corporation, which boasts to be one of the largest manufacturers of capacitors in the world, informed the Chief Minister about their projects in India while also giving details of electric vehicles and their products in the energy storage industry.

The Chief Minister asked the representatives of the Nichicon Corporation to take advantage of the emerging sector of electric vehicles in India and immense opportunities in Gujarat in the same.

The Chief Minister and his delegation also held a meeting with Hyogo Governor Motohiko Saito. In his meeting with the Governor, the Chief Minister shared that it was during the visit of PM Narendra Modi to Hyogo in 2007 and 2012 — when he was serving as Gujarat’s Chief Minister — that he saw the “dream of Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train”.

The relations between Hyogo and Gujarat are not just between two states, but beyond, he added, while stressing that Hyogo’s Kobe and Ahmedabad are connected through the bond of being sister cities, he further said. The Chief Minister had begun his Japan tour on November 26. During the first four days of his visit, CM Patel met various government officials and representatives of trade organisations of Japan. He visited cities like Yamanashi, Tokyo, and Kobe.

In Tokyo, the Chief Minister led the Vibrant Gujarat Roadshow which saw participation of more than 200 business professionals.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also traveled by bullet train from Tokyo to Yokohama and visited the famous Sankeien garden. The delegation CM is heading includes top bureaucrats and key industry representatives in Gujarat.
