(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 16 – CGIL General Swcretary Maurizio
Landini said Thursday his union, Italy’s biggest and most
left.wing, will appeal with fellow union UIL against Deputy
Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini’s injunctions
against their eight-hour general strike Friday.

“Together with UIL we are working to present the appeal against
the injunctions against the strike,” Landini said on the
sidelines of an initiative with the Federation of Knowledge
Workers (FLC) on the “Caravan of Rights’.

“We have formally decided that we will do so and have given a
mandate to the lawyers to prepare it within the timeframe
envisaged, therefore in a few days”, he said.

CGIL and UIL have already cut the transport part of their strike
to four hours, from nine am to one pm, to avoid worker getting
docked pay or otherwise sanctioned for late arrival. (ANSA).
