Most business travellers expect flexibility to book travel outside of company policy.
More Singaporeans are willing to travel for business (67% vs 48%), but not without higher expectations to prioritize safety, flexibility and sustainability.
According to a SAP Concur survey, nine in 10 business travellers expect flexibility to book travel outside company policy when policy conflicts with their needs or values.
Flexible arrangement includes employers allowing staff to book travel that help facilitate a healthy work-life balance (53%).
They also want employers to allow them to book more sustainable travel options (50%).
About 95% of SG travellers will take extra steps over the next 12 months to reduce the environmental impact of their business travel, whilst 25% would decline a business trip that would impact the environment negatively.
In addition, 46% of travellers book directly using an airline hotel or car rental company’s website or app, whilst 41% use their company’s travel agency.
Nine in 10 (96%) travellers also said their business travels have been affected by reduced travel budgets.
