About the Instructors

Jason Kurtz is the CEO of Basware, the world’s leading accounts payable automation software company. He also has worked with Accel-KKR, joining in 2013 to launch the Accel-KKR Consulting Group. Prior to Accel-KKR, Kurtz worked at Ariba, Inc. (acquired by SAP in 2012) for eleven years in a variety of executive roles and served as a member of the company’s management committee. Previously, Kurtz was a director in Arthur Andersen’s business consulting practice, where he focused on helping companies create profitable, revenue growth. Kurtz also worked at ESPN as an associate producer. Kurtz currently serves on the board of directors of iSolved, Unimarket, Pegaso Technologies, and Basware. He received his MBA in marketing and finance from the Darden Graduate School of Management at the University of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Melissa Caren is an accomplished sales leader with a rich history spanning many successful Silicon Valley startups. She has decades of experience helping high-tech customers achieve business results with innovative software solutions. Caren excels at selling to senior leaders, giving engaging talks at conferences, and mentoring and coaching the next generation of sales talent.
