The CEO of hospitality group edyn, which owns extended stay brands Locke, Cove and SACO has announced he is stepping down.
Stephen McCall posted the update on LinkedIn: “After careful thought and reflection, I am announcing my decision to step down as CEO of edyn,” said McCall in the post. “This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make. Leading (and just as often following) the edyn community has been both an honour and a privilege, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together. If we are the sum of our experiences, then edyn has left an indelible impression on who I am today – both as a leader and a human.”
“We
are truly grateful for the contribution which Stephen has made to
edyn’s journey since joining in 2018,” said edyn in a statement provided to BTN Europe. “Under his leadership, the company
has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself as a pioneer in
one of hospitality’s fastest-growing sectors.
“We now have a portfolio of
distinctive brands and high-quality properties across British and
European gateway cities, capable of delivering guests unique,
design-led, and memorable stays unlike any other.
“Following
Stephen’s departure, our CFO Daniel Carre-Bishop will step in as
Interim CEO and help lead the search for Stephen’s successor. Alongside
edyn’s broader leadership team, Daniel will deliver the next stage of
edyn’s growth, which will see new openings in Zurich, Lisbon, and Paris
across the coming months and years. We look forward to what this next chapter will bring and wish Stephen the very best for the future.”
Daniel Carre-Bishop, edyn’s CFO will act as interim CEO from today while McCall’s successor is found. Carre-Bishop also posted the news on LinkedIn:
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead edyn through this transition and I want to thank Stephen McCall personally for his support and counsel over the last five years. During these years, he has not only been my leader but also a friend, and we wish him all the very best in his new ventures.”
Edyn recently announced the opening of its newest property, Cove Huntingdon House, London in October.
Located in Kensington and Chelsea neighbourhoods, the 14-key extended stay property offers three one bedroom and eleven two bedroom apartments.
