Soon to be celebrating its 55th anniversary in November, Casey’s Orchard has been serving its visitors since the orchard’s opening in 1968. Located in Stevens Point, the orchard is family-owned and operated.
Run by Casey Janowski and his wife, Marcia, the orchard started development in the spring of 1968 when they planted their first trees. Janowski credits his father for the first dozen trees planted, which quickly became hundreds of trees to pick from.
Janowski was in his mid-twenties when the first trees were planted and later had children of his own to help out around the orchard.
Janowski said, “We get a lot of families and kids running around here, people are attracted to the family-oriented feel we have going.”
Janowski and his wife cherish the memories made by the people who keep them in business and the small-town community that provides their local supply of products.
Janowski said, “We grow some pumpkins, squash, and onions to sell,” alongside their apples.
The apples are sold by the pound, and the pumpkins are priced by weight and size.
Marcia said, “We have over 20 types of apples to choose from that Casey picks himself out of the orchard.” She said they have six and a half acres of apple trees.
Casey’s Orchard features pre-picked apples and locally-made products like maple syrup, honey, and jam. They are open every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and they are closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
To purchase apples and many other locally sourced products, visit Casey’s Orchard at 2829 Burbank Road, Stevens Point, WI, 54481.
