b1 Foundation set to open small business center to aid economic development

The b1 Foundation’s Gov. Buddy Roemer Small Business Center will open for business on Wednesday, offering services to help boost economic development. 

The b1 Foundation, formed by b1BANK has helped more than 400 small business owners since it was launched in 2021, offering counseling and financial education programs as well as aiding entrepreneurs in accessing some $22 million in capital funding. 

The foundation’s new business center is at 4944 Florida Boulevard, at the intersection with North Foster Drive. One main focus of the foundation is to foster entrepreneurs from economically challenged areas. 

Some of the center’s notable clients include TCM Technology, Teresa Brown Consulting, WM Management, T-Shirt Bayou and KOK Wings. 

Tours of the center are being offered from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
