A financial planning and wealth management firm has hit the £7 billion mark after two takeovers.

Perspective Financial Group has bought Accord Financial Management and RPG Financial.

The moves mean the company now has £7 billion of assets under management.

The agreements also add to 17 acquisitions made across the year to date, meaning Perspective, which has offices in Newcastle, Darlington and Hexham, has grown by more than a third in the last 12 months.

And bosses say it is primed to grow yet further, with contracts exchanged on another seven deals.

Ian Wilkinson, Perspective chief executive [pictured, above], said: “We are delighted another two client-centric firms have chosen to become part of us.

“These acquisitions add a further 1400 households as clients, £390 million in assets under management and two new office locations.

“2023 has been a year of strong and significant progress for us as we continue to deliver our highly selective acquisition strategy, completing a record number of acquisitions.

“Our acquisition pipeline of both large and small firms remains extremely strong and continues to grow month-on-month.”

Paul Roper and Jason Bant, directors of Worthing-based Accord Financial Management, said the business’ growth will be supercharged as part of the Perspective stable.

They said: “Perspective shares our ethos, ethics and client-focused approach.

“This move will provide long-term security to the provision of financial advice to clients and career security for staff.”

Stephen Dilks, Richard Garner and Richard Pink, directors of Rotherham-based RPG Financial, added: “Since founding the business 19 years ago, we have enjoyed significant success.

“However, our attention over the past few years has naturally been drawn towards ensuring its future, to enable us to continue to provide high levels of client advice and service.

“After an exhaustive search, Perspective really stood out; they are a genuinely client-centric firm with great professionalism.”

Perspective has now made 75 acquisitions since its foundation 16 years ago.

It has 37 offices across the UK, 125 financial planners and 460 staff.
