Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk has reflected on the conclusion of the Writers Guild of America strike of 2023.

What did Bob Odenkirk say about the end of the 2023 writers strike?

While appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Odenkirk — who is a member of the WGA — spoke about the end of the writers strike. The actor and writer noted that he’s happy with how things turned out and that he was impressed with the diversity of the WGA.

“I am very thankful and proud of my brothers and sisters in the WGA and how it turned out,” Odenkirk stated (via The Hollywood Reporter). “One of the things I noticed on the line when I went to picket this time was it just knocked me over how diverse our union is now, and it made me really proud and thankful.”

The 2023 Writers Guild of America strike began on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 and ran until Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Some of the primary issues at the center of the strike included residuals from streaming content and restrictions involving AI writing. The strike went on for a total of 148 days, ending on September 27.
