Institutions will get extra funds to enhance business links under government’s levelling-up agenda

A pilot £60 million fund for universities to engage with businesses, announced by science secretary Michelle Donelan at the Conservative Party conference, has received a warm welcome.

The Regional Innovation Fund has been launched under the government’s levelling-up agenda to direct extra funding to universities in areas with lower levels of R&D investment.
