Co-founding twin sisters of Welsh-based attractions-booking platform, Lovetovisit.com, have been named the best entrepreneurs of the year in leading industry awards.
Port Talbot-born Alice and Georgia Aubery took the John Hays Entrepreneurs of the Year title at the Travel Industry Awards 2023 by TTG, hosted by industry bible the Travel Trade Gazette.
The judges said: “Alice and Georgia Aubrey have won this hugely prestigious award due to the genuine innovation of their business Lovetovisit.com, which focuses on personalisation to put opportunities in front of customers in a smart way, via a proprietary algorithm. They have been inspired by ideas in other business sectors which they have diligently researched before refining them for the travel industry, with tremendous success to date. There is no reason to think Alice and Georgia can’t keep up their growth and deliver on their ambitious plans for expansion.”
Alice said: “This is such a distinguished award we can’t help but be extremely proud to win it. But we have to give huge credit and thanks to our supporters, investors and above all, our amazing team at Lovetovisit.”
Georgia added: “Lovetovisit.com is an international platform, but the concept was born in Wales, our head office is in Cardiff, and we’re an extremely proud Welsh company. Our ambition for our product is massive, and that can only be good for Wales.”
Lovetovisit grew 295% between Q4 2022 and Q3 2023, hitting gross monthly revenues of £746,000 (August).
The special John Hays Entrepreneur of the Year category was introduced in 2021 in memory of industry pioneer John Hays, founder of Hays Travel, and was presented by Dame Irene Hays and daughter Helen Hays.
