Avis Budget Group has boosted its presence in the UK market by acquiring Scotland-based McNicoll Vehicle Hire.

McNicoll Vehicle Hire, based in Newbridge, near Edinburgh, specialises in offering a range of vehicles including both cars and vans – it will maintain its own brand following the acquisition. Financial terms of the deal with Avis Budget were not disclosed.

Avis Budget has already been expanding operations in Scotland and opened a new location at Glasgow Central station in July.
