SINGAPORE — As the global funding winter continues, the business climate surrounding startups remains harsh worldwide. Under this circumstance, a startup competition held by the Singapore Management University in mid-September saw a rapid increase in applications from overseas.

The biennial Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition has a history of over 20 years and targets university-led early-stage startups.
