Lufthansa Group airline Swiss has announced it will serve Washington DC and Toronto next year, as well as expanding its European network.
The airline will offer non-stop services from Zurich to Washington DC and Toronto, as well as Košice in Slovakia and Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
Earlier this year Swiss announced it was increasing its long-haul services to the US, doubling its flights to Miami and increasing services to San Francisco, New York, Boston, Chicago and Canada’s Montreal.
Swiss chief commercial officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour said: “We are delighted that we will be further expanding our route network next summer on both the short- and the long-haul front.”
For the new US route Swiss will offer a daily, year-round service between Zurich and Washington DC.
The flight will depart from Zurich at 1300 and arrive in Washington at 1620. The return service will leave the US capital at 2045 and arrive in Zurich at 1050 the following day.
The service will begin on March 28, 2024, although for the initial period there will be slightly different departure and arrival times, as March falls within the previous 2023/24 winter timetable period.
Swiss will serve Toronto from May 10 next year. The new service, which is provisionally planned for the summer schedules only, will fly five days a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The service will depart Zurich at 0955 and arrive in Toronto at 1300. The return flight will leave Toronto at 1635 and arrive in Zurich at 0630 the following day.
Swiss will also be expanding its European route network next summer adding a new non-stop service to and from Košice, Slovakia’s second-biggest city. It will fly three times a week.
Swiss will also serve Cluj-Napoca, Romania’s second largest city, three times a week.
Tickets for the new routes are available from today.
Last week the airline announced it would only sell ‘Green Fares’ on its services between Zurich and Geneva.
