RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: KPI Concepts of Des Moines County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“KPI Concepts grew from its humble beginnings in owner Craig Upton’s garage into a nationally-respected industry leader in retail design,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “Craig’s dedication to improving his business and his community exemplifies the American entrepreneurial spirit, and I’m proud to recognize the KPI Concepts team for their many accomplishments.”

For over 40 years, KPI Concepts has designed and produced innovative, durable, and dependable solutions for its customers. Craig Upton founded the company in 1984 to build cabinetry for local businesses. Since then, KPI Concepts has consistently expanded and now includes commercial cabinetry construction, wind turbine part fabrication, and metal manufacturing. In addition to building KPI Concepts from the ground up, Craig was recognized by Southeastern Community College with their 2014 Distinguished Alumnus Award, and the KPI Metals team received the Greater Burlington Partnership’s Manufacturer of the Year Award in 2017.

Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
