A new mystical shop has opened in the centre of Newhey, to help people discover their inner magic.
Nature’s Elements opened on 12 January in the former Hairnecessities hair salon on Shaw Road, next to Abby Rose Holistic, and stocks all manner of incense and essential oils, spell candles and jars, runes and dreamcatchers, and other similar items, including handmade Pagan/Wiccan jewellery, books and mugs, and wall hangings.
It is run by Sue Hancox who has dreamed of her own ‘witchy’ shop for years.
She said: “I’ve been wanting to open a ‘witchy’ shop for the last couple of years, but it’s never been the right time or premises available. In November, premises came up which is walking distance from my house, so it’s ideal.
“I love all things associated with Paganism, and Native American and Celtic cultures.
“People think witchcraft is about voodoo and casting spells, but it’s about understanding nature. I want the shop to be unique, I want it to have something that the other witchy shops don’t have, as each one all have their own unique talents.”
Sue has previously worked in security and as an assistant manager and a riding instructor. She has also worked for the North West Ambulance Service and also runs the Bart’s Legacy cat sanctuary.
Nature’s Elements is open every day, except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
