Banks have been given two weeks to hand over the information, which will then be analysed and published by mid-September.
A spokesman for the FCA said: “We are reviewing how financial services firms have applied the Politically Exposed Persons regime and whether any changes are needed for UK PEPs.
“We are keen to hear directly from UK PEPs on their experiences, including any problems they have encountered – so we’re proactively reaching out to parliamentarians and other UK PEPs at an early stage.
“We will publish the full terms of reference for the review in September and report back by June next year.”
The GB News presenter is currently in talks with Coutts about keeping his accounts open, but he has accused NatWest of kicking his complaint “into the long grass” by carrying out an internal review with no deadline.
Mr Farage has said he was the victim of an “establishment stitch-up” and called for Dame Alison and NatWest chairman Sir Howard Davies to be stripped of their honours.
