Students in wine-related and hospitality courses vie in a “learn by doing” competition to create the best virtual wine brand
August 11th – NAPA, CA – The Intercollegiate Wine Business Invitational, now entering its 6th year, is open for registration until October 1, 2023 for wine and hospitality schools. The competition is perfect for schools looking to incorporate the project-based, turn-key program that prepares students at every level for their careers in wine and hospitality industries. Complete details, rules, and timeline can be found at www.winebusinesseducation.com/iwbi.
The program is flexible so it can be incorporated into virtual and/or face-to-face wine related classes and perfect for online learning programs. It is a great addition for any existing class – learning what goes into working as a team to design a wine brand and label, calculate realistic costs and financials for producing a wine, and the essential steps for creating a business plan.
Students will learn as they compete against other collegiate teams that have included Washington State University, Michigan State University, Linfield University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and the César Ritz College in Switzerland. Registration is open now through October 1st, 2023, which will give the students nearly 2 months to prepare and submit final projects by the November submission deadline.
