Denmark’s data protection authority, Datatilsynet, became the latest EU authority to order a halt on the use of Google Analytics for data transfers to the U.S. without supplementary measures. Denmark’s decision follows those from Austria, France and Italy, with Dataltilsynet noting the shared view represents “a pan-European attitude among the supervisory authorities” and a “crucial” step toward a harmonized approach. Datatilsynet advised Danish businesses to “assess whether their possible continued use of the tool is within the framework” of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
