Police were contacted by the owner of a business on Main Street North Sunday reporting an armed robbery that had taken place just after 9 p.m., Huron County OPP said.
A male suspect entered the unidentified store, demanded cash and brandished a handgun, police said.
The suspect left the store with an unspecified amount of money and is believed to have entered a vehicle parked west of the store entrance, OPP said.
Police believe the suspect was involved in an attempted variety store robbery shortly before, around 9 p.m. A suspect was seen trying to enter a Huron Park store with a handgun but the business had closed for the evening, police said. While police were responding to the Huron Park call, the robbery in Exeter occurred, OPP said.
