Global re/insurer Chubb announced the promotion of Zelda Mostert to the position of Country President for South Africa.
Mostert, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer for the region, will take on the new role with effect from July 1.
As Country President, Mostert will assume responsibility for managing the performance, strategy, and development of Chubb’s accident and health, consumer, and digital business in South Africa.
Mostert, who joined Chubb in 2013, has an extensive background in senior finance and treasury roles across various sectors in South Africa.
Her comprehensive knowledge of the local market positions her well to lead Chubb through its next phase of expansion in the country.
Mostert will be based at Chubb’s Sandton office and report directly to Mark Roberts, Division President of the United Kingdom, Ireland, and South Africa.
In expressing his confidence in Mostert’s capabilities, Mark Roberts stated, “Over the past decade, Zelda has been very closely involved in the development of our business in South Africa. This makes her perfectly placed to lead Chubb through our next phase of expansion in South Africa as we concentrate on growing our A&H, consumer and digital business there.”
Mostert’s promotion follows the relocation of Gary Jack, the former Country President for South Africa, who will be taking on a new role as Regional Manager for Chubb’s Midlands & South Region in the United Kingdom.
Roberts acknowledged Jack’s exceptional leadership since 2015 and expressed his well wishes for Jack’s success in his new position with Chubb in the UK.
