Cisalpina scores IATA GoGlobal accreditation

Italian TMC Cisalpina Tours has received IATA’s GoGlobal accreditation, joining a select group of global travel management companies with the certification, and the first in Italy, according to the company.

Some 13 TMCs globally have received the accreditation, which assess a TMC’s financial health, due diligence and corporate compliance. The GoGlobal accreditation provides IATA’s stamp of approval, offering TMCs operating in multiple countries with a single, overarching financial guarantee.

In a statement, Cisalpina said the accreditation process involved “a series of careful administration tasks” and that following approval, quarterly financial assessments will take place at a parent company level to provide “a major reconfirmation for world airlines of the solidity of our group”.

Cristina Stacchini, global industry relations manager at Cisalpina Tours, described the accreditation as “a huge milestone”.

“We are opening offices around the world at a very fast pace and believe that IATA’s GoGlobal is one of the most important steps towards our internationalisation, which we are undertaking with our parent company, MSC Group,” she added.

The company, which is among the top three TMCs in Italy in BTN Europe’s Leading TMCs 2023 rankings, currently has a presence in seven Italian cities as well as in the US, Brazil, Turkey and Cyprus, and is looking to expand further across Europe and into Latin America and Africa.

The TMC earlier this month also introduced a new self-booking tool for clients. Known as ‘MyTico’, the tool includes aggregated multi-GDS content from air, rail, car and accommodation providers and also integrates travel and cost authorisation processes and expense reporting.
