The Government of India increased windfall tax on the sale of domestically produced crude oil to Rs 2,100 per tonne from Rs 1,700 per tonne after nearly 15 days. Along with this, windfall export tax on diesel was hiked by Rs 1.5, while on aviation turbine fuel it was increased by Rs 3.Windfall tax on diesel stands at Rs 6.5, which includes the Rs 1.5 of road infra cess, while on ATF it stands at Rs 4.5. The windfall tax on export of petrol continues to be ‘nil’. Brent crude prices are now around $86 per barrel, as against $81 per barrel 15 days ago.
